The health ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo has appealed for global assistance after confirming 6,342 Ebola cases and 3,072 fatalities across six provinces. A newly released 180‑day response blueprint, prepared with the WHO and Africa CDC, seeks US$1.3 billion to fund emergency operations, medical supplies, and community engagement. The ministry highlighted that many deaths are occurring in remote areas where patients never reach health facilities. "Every delayed detection costs lives," said the WHO representative in the country. The plan calls for coordinated action from governmental bodies, donors, NGOs and local leaders to halt the spread.
