During his visit to the Baiga-dominated villages of Kundekasa, Bondari and Korka in Balaghat, MP, Umang Singhar pressed authorities to launch an immediate health assessment of all residents, especially children. He pointed out that 39 children are currently admitted at Balaghat District Hospital, with 27 in general wards and 12 in ICU, some in serious condition. Singhar demanded that the government provide free medical care, nutritional support, and safe drinking water. He also called for a thorough, independent probe into the deaths and urged the state to release accurate data, accusing officials of suppressing the true impact of the outbreak.
