Calls for Investigation into RG Kar’s Handling of Accident Victim

Relatives of a young accident victim have demanded a thorough investigation into the care provided by RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. The patient, identified as Pritam Roy from Hooghly district, was rushed to the hospital’s trauma centre around 5:30 pm on Saturday with severe injuries.

Medical reports indicate that his both leg bones and the left side of his pelvis were broken. Massive internal bleeding caused a haemorrhagic shock, and he succumbed to his injuries at approximately 10:30 pm on the same night.

The family accused the hospital of carelessness and appealed to the chief minister and health minister for a swift inquiry. The hospital’s super‑intendents have assured the public that the complaint is under active review.
