B.R. Singh Hospital specialists now reachable via railway health units
Railway employees and their dependents can now access specialist consultations from B.R. Singh Hospital without leaving their local health centres. The tele‑medicine platform links the hospital’s senior doctors with patients at Sonarpur, Naehati and Gholsapur facilities.
The launch ceremony was attended by key railway medical leaders, including Division Railway Manager Rajiv Saxena and Medical Director Nataraj Basappa, along with B.R. Singh Hospital officials.
The service is designed for individuals who face difficulty travelling to Siuladah for advanced care. Through video conferencing, patients can discuss symptoms, receive diagnoses and obtain treatment recommendations instantly.
Officials anticipate a measurable reduction in footfall at the hospital’s OPD, allowing resources to be allocated more efficiently. They also mentioned exploring remote minor surgeries that do not require hospital admission as a future possibility.
