BJP leaders rally behind Rao as he withdraws fast over fee reimbursement

Hyderabad, August 25 – Telangana BJP president N. Ramchandar Rao ended his 48‑hour hunger strike after senior party members raised concerns over his declining health. The strike was aimed at pressuring the state government to release pending fee‑reimbursement funds for students.

Party workers noted a significant fall in Rao’s blood pressure. Following counsel from senior leaders, Rao stopped the fast and was given lemon water by BJP MP K. Lakshman.

Former Governor B. Dattatreya, MP E. Rajendra and BJP MLA Maheshwar Reddy visited the protest site, publicly supporting Rao’s cause.

MP E. Rajendra seized the moment to demand that Chief Minister A. Revante Reddy settle the arrears, emphasizing that around four million students are awaiting the funds.

In a post on X, Rao pledged continued advocacy for student rights, accusing the Congress government of withholding a ₹15,000‑crore fee‑reimbursement package that threatens the educational and employment futures of thousands.
