Authorities Seize Adulterated Cheese Products in Uttar Pradesh
The Uttar Pradesh Food Safety Department has intensified its surveillance of dairy‑based sweets after a series of raids in Ghaziabad, Noida and the Modinagar‑Bhojpur region. In Ghaziabad, officials confiscated large quantities of cheese‑based rasgulla, ararot and paneer, all of which showed signs of adulteration with sodium formaldehyde sulfoxylate. Similar violations were uncovered in Noida, where 100 kilograms of rasgulla were destroyed, and in Modinagar, where suspected paneer, mawa and cake mixtures were seized. The department’s rapid response follows complaints from consumers and local authorities, and is being carried out under the direct orders of DM Ravindra Kumar Mandal to protect public health during the festive season.
