Over 2,000 fever patients in Chennai, 140 dengue confirmations in ten days

In a ten‑day window, Chennai's health network identified more than 2,000 fever sufferers, of which 140 have tested positive for dengue, a mosquito‑borne disease. Compared with August, when the city logged roughly 4,500 fever cases and 160 dengue cases, the current numbers are approaching the previous month's total within a much shorter period. Doctors stress the importance of early diagnosis, complete blood counts and proper hydration. They also advise families to keep homes clean, cover water storage containers and regularly empty stagnant water.
