October futures on MCX rose by 0.25 percent to 50,805 per 10 grams, while silver futures jumped 1.3 percent to 68,120 per kg. Earlier, gold prices fell for three consecutive seasons.
On August 7, gold in the country reached a record high of 56,200 per 10 grams. Gold is still about 5,000 per 10 grams cheaper than record levels. On the other hand, silver is also getting cheaper by Rs 10,000 per kg from last month’s record level.
Global markets also saw a rise in gold prices on Monday. In the global market, gold spot was trading up 0.2 percent at $ 1,935.53 an ounce.
