Chhattisgarh Chief Information Commissioner Shri M.K. Raut said that the transparency of the Election Commission of India and their emotional connection with the voters is commendable. He said that the Voter Helpline Mobile App of the Election Commission is an important tool to make people aware of the democratic process. Describing the booth level officer doing election related work as a frontline worker, he appreciated his contribution in the work of keeping the voter list pure. Describing the importance of each vote, Mr. Raut appealed to all the citizens to register their names in the voter list. Presiding over the program, State Election Commissioner Mr. Thakur Ram Singh said that this year even in this period of epidemic, compared to last year. The registration of more voters definitely shows the awareness of the voters. He requested everyone to participate enthusiastically in any election. Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Reena Babasaheb Kangale delivered the welcome address. Mrs. Kangale informed that 3,98,550 new voters have been added during the voter list revision campaign this year even in difficult circumstances, out of which 2,22,073 voters are in the age group of 18 to 19 years. At present the number of voters in the state is 1,94,95,247. The number of voters this year has increased by 1,50,858 as compared to last year. He also informed that the Garuda App and Voter Helpline App prepared by the Election Commission of India have been adopted by the voters and have given preference to online applications. Out of the total applications received in the state, 53.30 percent applications have been received online. All took an oath collectively to exercise their franchise in all the elections. The message of the Chief Election Commissioner of India was also telecast live. Keeping in mind the unforeseen circumstances arising due to the corona epidemic, this event was organized in virtual form, in which social media like YouTube, Facebook Live and Google Meet were broadcast from all over the state. Citizens, media personnel and officers and employees of all districts participated through the medium. The vote of thanks was done by Additional Chief Electoral Officer Smt. Shikha Rajput. On this occasion, Joint Chief Electoral Officer Shri Vipin Manjhi, including officers of the office of Chief Electoral Officer were present. State level awards were also distributed to the officers who did excellent work in various categories related to the elections. Special Brief Revision For the excellent work done in 2022, Collector and Election Officer, Mr. Bhim Singh, District Raigarh was awarded the excellent district award for excellent district, Collector and Election Officer Mrs. Ranu Sahu, District Korba for the implementation of SVEEP action plan. Outstanding Deputy District Election Officer Award Shri Gaurishankar Nag, Deputy District Election Officer, District Kanker, Special Jury Award was given to Shri T. Balan, District-Durg and Shri Girish Gupta, District Level Sweep Nodal Officer, District Surguja. . Similarly, Shri Ashish Kumar Dwivedi, Assistant Programmer, District Balrampur, Ramanujganj was honored with incentive award at the state level for preparing creative slogans related to elections in the year 2021. One excellent Electoral Registration Officer, one excellent Assistant Electoral Registration Officer and one excellent Assistant Programmer were awarded at the state level from each division.
