Why Sachin Pilgaonkar Loves Family Movies

Actor Sachin Pilgaonkar has revealed what draws him to family entertainment. His recent film Kapuskonda has received a positive response, and he believes such stories hold a unique place in cinema.

In his words, family films are special because they create memories that several generations can connect with.

Kapuskonda is a light-hearted film that carries an endearing message about humour, emotions and the importance of staying together. Modern cinema has been dominated by crime thrillers, suspense and intense drama. This film, however, offers a refreshing change with its focus on togetherness, laughter and family bonds.

Speaking about the movie, Pilgaonkar said he has always enjoyed being part of stories that can bring a smile to people's faces. While he respects all genres, he feels that films a family can watch together have a special quality. He said he has tried to remain an actor who wins audiences through heartfelt stories, and that their love and affection matter most to him after all these years.

He described Kapuskonda as a film filled with humour, belonging, emotion and, above all, a big heart. He said it explores a relationship that nobody had expected. He hopes viewers will embrace the film with the same warmth they have shown him throughout his journey.

In the film, Pilgaonkar portrays a retired postman who is extremely afraid of dogs. His calm family life is disrupted when a dog suddenly walks into his home. He makes it clear that either the dog or he will have to go, but circumstances force him to share his life with the very animal he fears most.

Referring to his four-legged co-star, Pilgaonkar said he has always loved animals and considers his dog Jack a close part of his heart and family. Working with a dog on screen was therefore a special and unique experience. He pointed out the irony that his character fears dogs while he is genuinely fond of them off screen.

He said he enjoyed every moment of shooting with his canine co-star and called the bond between humans and dogs wonderful. The love, trust and loyalty dogs offer are completely unselfish, he said, adding that people who own dogs will understand what he is trying to say.

Kapuskonda has been written and directed by Sachin S. S. Mohite. It has the support of Panorama Studios and has been produced by Storywala Films together with the V. P. Mouli Group.
