In Puri, a coastal hub known for its artistic traditions, two students from the Sudarshan Sand Art Institute unveiled an animated sand portrait of Lata Mangeshkar on September 28. The brief animation, executed in just half an hour, featured the singer’s likeness and references to beloved tracks such as “Lag Ja Gale” and “Ajeeb Dastan Hai Yeh.”

The creators expressed that the piece is a tribute to a voice that defined Indian cinema for over seventy years, reinforcing that her songs will forever echo in the nation’s cultural memory.
