Udta Teer Review Buzz: Fans Split on Humour, Action and Casting
Mumbai, October 23: The spy-comedy 'Udta Teer', featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, has opened in cinemas across the country, drawing a range of reactions from early viewers. While many have found it entertaining, opinions differ on its casting, pacing and title.
After leaving the theatre, one viewer recommended the film as a one-time watch for everyone. He said the comedy was enjoyable and singled out the character Mukul, whose performance he found outstanding. On Sara Ali Khan, he said her acting did not impress him this time, whereas Ayushmann Khurrana was entertaining in his role.
Another moviegoer said the film was a fun and enjoyable experience. He felt the first half works best as a comedy and the second half as an action drama. Calling Ayushmann Khurrana his favourite, he said he liked the actor's work, and he also appreciated Sara Ali Khan's performance as an actress. He believed that the film's unconventional presentation would appeal to audiences.
A different viewer, however, took issue with the film's name, arguing that it does not fit the way the story has been told. He said the film is a one-time watch and that it portrays Pakistan in a comical manner. He acknowledged that the film can slow down at times, although the humour keeps it engaging. According to him, Sara Ali Khan has a brief guest role, while Ayushmann Khurrana, known for his comic timing, has been given a serious character. The comedy of the other cast members, he said, was good, and he found the second half more entertaining.
The final viewer applauded the director and said the film is more entertaining than the trailer had indicated. He called the film surprisingly good, praised its writing, and said the situational humour was remarkable at several points. He described the director's fresh presentation of the rivalry between two agencies as a highlight, while noting that blending comedy into a spy thriller is a difficult task.
