Udta Teer: Ayushmann Khurrana Shares Story Behind Monga Link

Mumbai, October 22: Ahead of the theatrical release of his film 'Udta Teer', actor Ayushmann Khurrana has disclosed a little-known detail about his career. Oscar-winning producer Guneet Monga, he says, was the first person to audition him.

Khurrana noted that the two are now working together on a film after years of staying connected through the industry.

He said that his creative outlook aligns closely with Monga's, especially regarding the kind of stories they want to tell. Khurrana added that he has always been drawn to films that break away from routine narratives. He credited Monga with bringing Indian stories to a global audience and representing the country at the Oscars.

The actor also highlighted the teamwork behind the project, saying it plays a major role in shaping the film's identity. 'Udta Teer' combines patriotism, action and comedy in an entertaining format that he believes stands out within its genre.

Reflecting on their bond, Khurrana said the relationship has grown since that first audition, with both of them keeping track of each other's progress over the years. He described finally getting the chance to collaborate as a long-awaited moment.

The spy comedy is helmed by Aakash Kaushik, who wrote and directed the film in his first directorial outing. It arrives in cinemas on October 23.
