Tourist Family Star Abishan Jeevinth Welcomes Daughter

Filmmaker and actor Abishan Jeevinth has become a father, as his wife Akhila Ilangovan gave birth to a baby girl. The news has brought a wave of congratulations for the young director, whose debut film Tourist Family was a major success.

Abishan confirmed the news through his Instagram stories, where he posted a black-and-white photo of himself holding the newborn. “Officially a daughter's father now,” he wrote, sharing the moment with his followers.

The arrival of the baby girl follows closely on the couple's first wedding anniversary, which they celebrated just two days earlier. For the couple, the timing made the milestone even more special.

Abishan and Akhila reportedly have a long-standing bond, having known each other since their childhood days. The two dated for many years before deciding to marry. Their relationship became public in a memorable way in 2025, when Abishan proposed to Akhila on stage during promotional events for Tourist Family, and the video quickly spread across social media.

The couple got married on October 31, 2025, at the Hanu Reddy Boathouse Garden in the upmarket Poes Garden area of Chennai. The ceremony was attended by several leading names from Tamil cinema, such as Sivakarthikeyan, Simran, Anaswara Rajan and Soundarya Rajinikanth.

Abishan began his directorial journey in 2025 with Tourist Family, a film produced on a very limited budget. Featuring M. Sasikumar and Simran, the movie delivered strong box office earnings.

His success as a filmmaker was followed by his debut as a lead actor in 2026 with the film With Love. Abishan is next expected to appear in a significant role in the upcoming Tamil project Picasso, alongside Kannada superstar Dr. Shivarajkumar.

Directed by Gautham Shivaraman, Picasso also stars Shivani Nagaram, Yogalakshmi and Gana Vinod in prominent parts. The film is set to release in Tamil, Kannada and Telugu languages.
