Music director and singer Toshi Sabri marks 42 years of life and success

Mumbai – July 3 – Indian music composer‑singer Muhammad Owaiz Sabri, better known as Toshi Sabri, is slated to celebrate his 42nd birthday on July 4. Emerging from a reality‑television platform, his ascent to Bollywood stardom has been marked by a series of iconic songs and film scores.

Raised in a household where classical music was a daily practice, Toshi’s father, Ustad Akram Sabri, introduced him to the subtleties of ragas and vocal techniques from a young age. This strong foundation allowed him to transition seamlessly from a TV stage to recording studios across the film industry.

The turning point in his playback career was the 2009 movie “Raj: The Mystery Continues,” where his rendition of “Mahi” became a massive hit. The song’s popularity highlighted his ability to merge qawwali’s gravitas, Sufi’s mystic aura, and contemporary musical trends.
