Tom Cruise talks about lifelong dream and love for Japan

Tom Cruise’s recent visit to Tokyo turned into a heartfelt tribute to his lifelong wanderlust and admiration for Japanese culture. In a video posted to his Instagram feed, the actor recounted how, as a child, he dreamed of seeing the world and how his first trip to Japan left an indelible impression.

He praised the nation’s artistic traditions, historic landmarks, and the genuine hospitality he experienced, calling the encounter “like a dream realized.” Cruise also reiterated his core belief that filmmaking is driven by curiosity and compassion, not by monetary rewards. “I don’t chase money,” he said. “I’m fascinated by people, life and the art of cinema.”

The promotional clip featured director Alejandro Inarritu, who expressed pride in collaborating with Cruise and highlighted the daring nature of the upcoming film “Diger.” The project, produced by both men, assembles a strong supporting cast that includes Sandra Huller, John Goodmann, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jessy Plamens, Sophie Wilde, Riz Ahmed and Emma D’Arcy.

Concluding his message, Cruise thanked the Japanese audience for making each of his visits memorable and promised to continue creating films that stand the test of time.
