‘The Paradise’ depicts 1980s tribal struggle; KTR and party dignitaries applaud
Hyderabad, 27 September – The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s executive chairman, K. T. Rama Rao, watched the tribal‑centred movie “The Paradise” alongside a cohort of senior legislators and ex‑ministers. Set against the backdrop of the 1980s, the picture follows the Savi tribe’s fight for recognition, featuring a character that mirrors former chief minister K. Chandrashekar Rao.
The role of Shankarna was delivered by actor Priyadarshi Pulikonda, whose on‑screen arrival was met with booming applause and celebratory chants from an audience that sported symbolic tilak markings. The storyline also recalls the historic resistance of tribal heroine Sammakka, reinforcing themes of perseverance against oppression.
KTR used his X account to commend the film, stating that it captures “the struggle for existence and the fight against suppression” while applauding director Srikanth Odela’s skill in turning a simple leaf into a powerful tool of change.
Various BRS leaders, including members of the upper house, former cabinet ministers, and local MLAs, expressed delight at the film’s accurate portrayal of Telangana’s language, terrain, and cultural spirit.
