Thaggappan Song Thangapulla Captures Father-Son Bond
Chennai, October 31: Jeeva's much-anticipated film 'Thaggappan' has launched its first song, 'Thangapulla', and it is drawing praise for its emotional impact.
Directed by Ra. Venkat, the film is described as a family entertainer. Its debut track explores the tender and distant relationship between a father and his son.
The song also gives viewers an early look at the film's narrative. A father longs to stay near his son, yet he is unable to reveal his true identity.
While sharing the link on his X account, Jeeva expressed his gratitude and joy. He wrote that the song celebrates poetry, happiness and the most precious part of their lives, and invited listeners to feel love in its purest form through 'Thangapulla', the first track from 'Thaggappan'.
Pa Vijay wrote the lyrics. The song is performed by Murugavel, and Marshall Robinson has created the music.
In the video, Jeeva's character is seen walking behind his son Prem at a distance. He watches the boy quietly and feels happiness in that moment. The lyrics and video together indicate that the father deeply loves his son, but a distance between them prevents him from telling the child that he is his father.
Filming for the project wrapped up in August. Production house Lark Studios announced the completion on social media, noting that every frame carries an emotion and every moment brings a memory. The studio said the story of emotions would soon be seen in theatres.
Rajisha Vijayan has been cast as the female lead. M. Sukumar is the cinematographer, and Nagooran Ramachandran has handled the editing.
The film will release in theatres on December 24, around Christmas this year.
