Terence Lewis’s ‘Jagdamba Rani’ Performance Lights Up Red Fort Ramleela

Mumbai – 18 October – International choreographer Terence Lewis graced the 103‑year‑old Shri Dharmic Leela Committee’s Ramleela at Delhi’s iconic Red Fort, delivering a stirring version of the devotional song “Jagdamba Rani.” The composition, created by Amol‑Abhishek, was amplified by their on‑stage vocal support.

The event also featured Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, who shared the stage with Lewis, offering congratulations to the team and expressing confidence in the upcoming movie “Aaj Ka Mahishasur.”

“Performing in a venue as historic as the Red Fort changes the nature of a performance,” Lewis said. “It becomes a dialogue between the past and present, and the audience’s reaction amplifies that conversation.”

He described the surge of energy that coursed through the arena as thousands of devotees responded to the soulful chant. “It’s more than just a song; it’s an emotional conduit that links everyone present,” he added.

Having completed two Navratri shows in Gujarat, Lewis noted the contrast and similarity of audience enthusiasm. The response in Delhi, he remarked, was a testament to the universal appeal of devotional music.

Lewis also expressed gratitude toward Chief Minister Gupta for her encouraging words, which he said bolstered the morale of the entire production crew.

“Aaj Ka Mahishasur,” directed by Deeaj Kumar and produced by Gaurang Bhaskar, stars Padmini Kolhapure, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Abhimanyu Singh, Neeraj Sood, Khushali Kumar, Himani Shivpuri, and Chandan Roy. The film’s title track “Jagdamba Rani” was penned by lyricist Abhishek Talented and performed by Dev Nagi, Divya Kumar, Amol Srivastav, and Abhishek Talented.

Lewis emphasized that integrating live cultural events with film promotion enables a direct, emotional bond with viewers, further solidifying the impact of his cinematic venture.
