Suriya Unveils DSP Inbaraj Look in Jeethu Madhavan's Scene

Fans of Suriya now have their first official look at his role in Jeethu Madhavan’s much-discussed film Scene, after the makers released a video featuring his character, DSP Inbaraj.

Sharing the clip on X, Suriya wrote, “Hello friends, with love, DSP Inbaraj.” The film is scheduled to release in theatres worldwide on November 6, during the Diwali season.

In the video, Inbaraj arrives at a crime scene where constable Sibi welcomes him. Sibi is uncertain whether he should call the officer “sir” or “anna,” and Inbaraj advises him to stick with “sir.”

As Inbaraj passes through a crowd gathered outside the crime scene, he asks people to keep a distance of one arm. He then asks Sibi why such a large crowd has assembled during Covid. When Sibi says he will remove them, Inbaraj stops him, explaining that crowds make for entertaining reels. He also tells Sibi to request that people filming on their phones shoot in vertical mode.

In a separate moment, Inbaraj warns someone against smoking, saying it could affect reproductive health. However, the same video shows him smoking, adding a layer of playful contradiction to his character.

The footage suggests that Suriya is playing an intelligent police officer who differs sharply from conventional portrayals of cops.

Naslen, previously announced as the villain, is seen as Ishwaran. The video presents him as a “faceless, emotionless, and cruel hunter.” In one scene, he tells someone, “Don’t be scared, I won’t kill you,” and then instructs, “Start the car.”

Filming began in December last year with a traditional puja in the city. Produced by Jhagaram Studios, the film was known as Suriya 47 until now.

Nazriya Nazim stars opposite Suriya as the female lead, while Jon Vijay and Anandraj also play significant roles. Vineeth Augustine is the cinematographer, Sushin Shyam has composed the music, Ashwini Kale is the production designer, Ajmal Sabu is the editor, and Chetan D’Souza is the stunt choreographer.
