Streaming Platforms Bring Stability to Struggling Actors, Says Bajpayee

Actor Manoj Bajpayee is currently receiving attention for 'Gajab Raat', which is available for streaming on Netflix. In an exclusive discussion, he offered his perspective on the role that OTT platforms are playing in the entertainment sector.

The actor believes that streaming platforms have created new pathways for artists. He pointed out that performers who lacked opportunities to display their skills in mainstream films have gained the most. These artists are now finding both acclaim and admiration.

Bajpayee said, 'Consider the actors who earlier did not get meaningful work. Male performers too did not receive enough chances in mainstream films. On OTT, they are now being respected in a big way. Their lives are moving forward well, and the characters they receive are giving them a degree of contentment and stability.'

He also reflected on the broader changes in the industry. According to him, since OTT became popular, finding work has become faster and more regular. He said, 'As someone who has watched this entire transformation closely, I can say that things have started moving very quickly and steadily after the arrival of OTT.'

Bajpayee first became known for his role as Bhikhu Mhatre in 'Satya'. Later, his roles as Sardar Khan in 'Gangs of Wasseypur' and Professor Ramchandra Siras in 'Aligarh' earned wide praise. His performance as an elderly police constable in 'Bhonsle' also caught the attention of viewers and critics.

He has portrayed police officers in several films, including 'Shool', 'Special 26', 'Traffic', 'Satyameva Jayate', 'Dial 100' and 'Inspector Zende'.

In the world of OTT, his web series 'The Family Man' has been especially popular. He played intelligence officer Srikant Tiwari in the series.
