Stage Trance: How Akhil Sachdeva Tunes Out Distractions During Performances

Akhil Sachdeva, the composer behind the recent *Awarapan 2* track “Piya Ghar Aaya – Homcoming,” described his live‑show experience as a state of trance.

Speaking to IANS in Mumbai, he said that once he steps onto the stage he is completely absorbed by the music, to the point where he cannot tell what the background dancers are doing. “It’s like being in a deep meditation,” he noted. “All that matters is the melody and my voice."

The composer maintains the same backing band that has accompanied him for years, a decision he says ensures everyone knows his breathing cues and timing. This continuity helps him stay locked in the performance, ignoring visual stimuli and focusing solely on sound.

Sachdeva stressed his commitment to the audience, insisting that every fan – ticket‑holder or casual attendee – deserves genuine attention. He makes a point of scanning the crowd, establishing a personal connection that he believes is essential for a memorable concert.
