SINTA Turmoil: Kunika Sadanand Urges Members to Prioritise Service Over Pride

Actress Kunika Sadanand spoke to IANS after a SINTA press conference, highlighting the need for humility within the Cine and TV Artists Association. She called for members to leave arrogance aside and concentrate on the association’s purpose.

"It is a tragic sight to watch the internal strife in SINTA," she said. "We appear to be entangled in personal disputes and ego, forgetting that SINTA was created for the greater good. When we step into service, we must keep pride at bay."

When questioned about the accusations against Poonam Dhillo and Padminee, Sadanand explained that she has known Poonam for many years and described her as having a dominating nature that can drive a team forward, provided the rest of the members are supportive.

"Leadership cannot function in isolation; it needs a cohesive team," she added.

She mentioned that she missed the last two Annual General Meetings but attended one where Poonam was elected. During that session, Poonam’s interaction with other members was described as overly aggressive, prompting Sadanand to withdraw from subsequent meetings.

Regarding the upcoming SINTA elections, she affirmed that she will continue to call out the truth, labeling right as right and wrong as wrong, irrespective of who is involved.
