Singer Shankar Sahni Takes on Kevat, the Devoted Servant of Lord Rama

Bollywood playback singer Shankar Sahni will appear in the Love‑Kush Ramleela as Kevat, the ardent devotee who washes Lord Rama's feet. Sahni explained that Kevat embodies pure love and selfless service, making the role emotionally resonant for him. He plans to fuse his vocal talent with acting, allowing the audience to feel Kevat’s reverence through both dialogue and song.

Sahni previously portrayed King Dasharatha in a regional Ramleela, a part that offered limited musical expression. The Kevat character, however, provides a unique opportunity to integrate his singing background, creating a seamless blend of performance and melody.

Addressing Swara Bhaskar's remarks on a disputed line in "Padmaavat," Sahni criticized the comment as indicative of a shallow mindset. He stressed that artistic discussions should stay respectful and focused on the craft rather than sensational headlines.
