Director Sajiv Pazhur praises respectful set for Malayalam debut

In interviews leading up to the release of “Enna Vilai”, director Sajiv Pazhur reflected on the collaborative spirit that defined the film’s production. According to him, the set operated on a foundation of mutual respect, with every department—from lighting technicians to actors—treated as essential contributors. This atmosphere, he says, helped newcomers like Shasha Shivkumar settle into a Malayalam‑language environment with confidence.

Pazhur also emphasized the importance of cultural sensitivity when guiding a cast that includes actors such as Karunas and Nimisha Sajjan. He noted that the film’s core message—exploring poverty, honor, and legal battles through the eyes of a coastal coin‑collector—required careful handling to stay authentic to the community it represents.

The director’s approach to leadership not only nurtured Shasha’s first foray into a village role but also allowed the entire team to learn from each other’s expertise. Their combined effort resulted in a film that tackles social issues while delivering engaging storytelling.

“Enna Vilai” is produced by Geetes Films under the Kalamaya banner and is slated for a global theatrical launch on September 17.
