A significant shift has occurred in the television landscape this week, as revealed by the data released by BARC India for week 35. There has been a considerable decline in the TRP of all TV serials. Surprisingly, no reality show managed to secure a position in the top 10 list. However, this does not signify the end of reality shows’ popularity. The dynamics in the TRP arena have taken an unexpected turn. ‘Bigg Boss’ continues to dominate. Despite not making it to the overall top 10 list, ‘Bigg Boss’ has secured the number one spot among reality shows, with a rating of 1.2, giving tough competition to others. The show airs on Jio Hotstar first, followed by its television broadcast after a delay of one and a half hours, yet it managed to outperform other reality shows. Another show, ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’ from Colors TV, also presented a strong challenge, achieving a rating of 1.2, thereby tying with ‘Bigg Boss’. ‘Super Dancer’ secured the third position with a rating of 0.9, which is considered to be a relatively ‘slow’ performance. On the other hand, ‘Kaun Banega Crorepati’ (KBC) saw a decline in its viewership, with Amitabh Bachchan’s popular show ranking fourth with a rating of 0.7. ‘Chhoriyan Chali Gaon’ from Zee TV took the fifth spot with a rating of 0.6. It is evident that the ratings’ calculations have been somewhat disrupted due to the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. While dramas and daily soaps have taken over the TRP charts, reality shows have lagged. Nevertheless, ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Pati Patni Aur Panga’ have proven their popularity.
