Joy in Dedication: Rasika Duggal's Piano Journey Begins
Mumbai, October 25: Actor Rasika Duggal is learning the piano for her upcoming drama film 'Little Thomas', and she is sharing the process openly with her audience.
In a Sunday post on her official X handle, she shared videos of her practice sessions. She said she rehearsed at home, in the middle of shoots, inside her van and whenever she could carve out time and space for it.
The footage shows her experimenting with slow and fast rhythms, playing in time and out of time. Duggal acknowledged that the practice was filled with errors and moments of frustration. Still, she kept at it, finding humour in some mistakes and simply moving on from others.
Duggal said the experience taught her a valuable lesson about life. She believes that real happiness is found in hard work and persistence, and that a bit of quirkiness can be an advantage. She added that anyone with a similar temperament would know exactly what she meant.
The actor, who was seen in 'Manto', pointed out that every new skill needs a teacher who is patient, encouraging and outstanding. She expressed happiness at learning the instrument for 'Little Thomas', describing the film as a sweet and heartfelt project. She said that acquiring a new skill along the way made the work even more rewarding.
Before the film reaches audiences, Duggal also highlighted the need for movies that children can see themselves in. She said films have the power to broaden our world and fuel our imagination, and that many adult perspectives are shaped by what we watched in childhood.
She emphasised that films should nurture children's curiosity rather than stifle it. According to Duggal, cinema for young audiences can be entertaining without being shallow, and thoughtful without being didactic.
She expressed a wish that more filmmakers would work on stories that children can enjoy and that open new possibilities for their imagination.
