Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Ramayan’ Reveals Jatayu Character as Symbol of Courage
A fresh poster from the upcoming film "Ramayan" shines a spotlight on the courageous bird Jatayu, confirming that Anupam Kher will voice the legendary creature. The artwork—titled "The Wings of Dharma"—depicts Jatayu with a piercing gaze, embodying the fight against evil that permeates the saga.
The visual is accompanied by a tagline that reads, "When evil takes to the skies, true bravery rises to meet it. Jatayu battles not for triumph, but for righteousness."
Jatayu’s legend is a cornerstone of the Ramayana. He attempted to thwart Ravana’s abduction of Sita, knowing that the confrontation could cost him his life. Despite sustaining severe injuries, he remained steadfast in his duty until his final breath, embodying self‑sacrifice and moral integrity.
The promotional rollout has already presented other central characters: Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Ravi Dubey as Lakshman. Additional posters for Rama, Kaikeyi and supporting figures have been shared by the makers.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film is produced by Prime Focus Studios in partnership with DNA and Yash’s Monster Mind Creations. It will be released in two parts, with Part 1 hitting screens worldwide on 5 November 2026 and Part 2 scheduled for the Diwali festivities of 2027. The movie will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam, catering to a pan‑Indian audience.
