Superstar Rajinikanth’s latest action film, ‘Coolie,’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has ignited theaters with its high-octane action. The film’s announcement generated significant anticipation, promising a fresh portrayal of Rajinikanth. Its immediate success has led to widespread speculation about its eventual release on OTT platforms. Reports indicate that ‘Coolie’ is slated to premiere on Prime Video following its theatrical run. While the official release date remains unconfirmed, it’s anticipated to be available online sometime in October or November 2025, adhering to the standard 45 to 60-day window for digital releases.
‘Coolie’ features a stellar cast including Soubin Shahir, Upendra, Sathyaraj, Shruti Haasan, Rachita Ram, Reba Monica John, Junior MGR, Kanna Ravi, Monisha Blessy, and Kaali Venkat. Aamir Khan makes a special cameo appearance. The film is produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) awarded the film an ‘A’ certificate due to its intense and violent content, a surprising move given that Lokesh’s previous films ‘Leo’ and ‘Vikram’ received ‘U/A’ certifications.
