Priyanka Chopra’s Instagram Post Pays Homage to Feminist Pioneer Gloria Steinem

Mumbai – In a moving Instagram story posted on September 4, actress Priyanka Chopra Jonas paid respect to legendary feminist Gloria Steinem. The star shared a video clip of Steinem and wrote, “Thank you for lighting the way. May Gloria Steinem rest in peace.”

Gloria Steinem, a driving force behind the second‑wave feminist surge of the late 1960s and early 1970s, passed away at her home at age 92. Beginning her career in journalism, she launched a national magazine edited entirely by women, bringing feminist issues into mainstream conversation.

Chopra highlighted the lasting influence of Steinem’s activism on countless women and expressed gratitude for the trailblazing path she forged.

In other entertainment updates, Chopra revealed her next film project with Academy Award‑winning actor Russell Crowe, marking their first collaboration. Crowe’s accolades include a BAFTA and two Golden Globes.

She also confirmed her debut in Tamil cinema through director S. S. Rajamouli’s pan‑India venture “Varanasi.” Portraying the central figure Madhakini, Chopra will star alongside Mahesh Babu and Pithairaj Sukumaran in a time‑travel, global action‑adventure set around the city of Varanasi. The film is slated for a worldwide release on April 7, 2027.
