New Crime Thriller Pratap Teases a Dramatic Fall From Law to Jail

A new trailer for the crime drama Pratap has been released, offering audiences their first real look at a story built around irony and moral conflict. The trailer launched on Monday in Mumbai.

The film centres on Amit Sadh, who plays a police officer whose career has been devoted to catching criminals and putting them in jail. Everything changes when circumstances turn against him, and the man who once enforced the law ends up behind bars.

The trailer shows a clash between the officer's past and present. It also poses a question that drives the narrative: what exactly led a police officer to prison?

The story follows a man whose life is turned upside down without warning. The trailer provides a glimpse of the challenges his character faces, but the real reasons for his imprisonment remain hidden until the film's full reveal.

Isha Deol co-stars, along with Seema Biswas, Tigmanshu Dhulia and Milind Gunaji in prominent roles. Sachin Saraf is both the writer and director of the film. Pradeep Rangwani has produced it, and UV Films is presenting it.

Amit Sadh said Pratap is unlike the typical police stories audiences are used to. He found the character's life journey fascinating, describing him as a man who devoted his life to enforcing the law, only to suddenly find himself on the other side. He noted that the character is full of emotions and contradictions, which motivated him to take on the role. He added that the trailer shows only a fraction of this world, with much more of the story yet to be revealed.

Isha Deol highlighted the film's layered storytelling. She said that while the story looks simple on the surface, it has many dimensions, and the way viewers see the characters changes as the plot progresses. She called her experience of working with Amit Sadh and director Sachin Saraf excellent and said she hopes audiences will connect with the story and its unexpected turns.

Sachin Saraf explained that the film looks at a person whose life is transformed after being trapped in a situation beyond anything they had imagined. The movie explores the choices people make, the consequences that follow and the thin boundary between right and wrong. The filmmakers have kept the story close to reality while including action and emotional moments where needed. Saraf described the trailer as just the beginning of a narrative that will open up in full on the big screen.

Pratap is expected to release in cinemas on November 20, 2026.
