Paras Chhabra’s Journey: Modeling, TV Serials and Bigg Boss
Paras Chhabra’s name is now synonymous with versatility in Indian entertainment. Born on 11 July 1990 in Delhi, his early life was defined by loss; his father died when Paras was a toddler, leaving his mother Ruby to raise him single‑handedly. To support his family and chase his dream, Paras entered modelling while still in school, taking on freelance assignments that ranged from catalog shoots to local advertisements.
The modelling chapter was not without hardship. Paras juggled multiple low‑pay jobs and faced constant rejections, yet his perseverance earned him spots in national ad campaigns. This exposure caught the attention of television producers, leading to an invitation to audition for MTV’s flagship reality programme, Splitsvilla.
In 2012, Paras competed in Splitsvilla Season 5. His confident demeanor and ability to connect with fellow contestants helped him navigate the show’s challenges. He emerged as a co‑winner alongside Akanksha Popli, a victory that instantly transformed him into a recognizable face across the country. The win opened doors to scripted television, and Paras soon debuted on Channel V’s “V the Serial”.
He revisited the reality format in 2015 by joining Splitsvilla 8, where despite not winning, his fan following grew significantly. Paras then shifted focus to daily soaps, playing Tejinder Singh in “Badhho Bahu”. Subsequent roles included parts in “Arambh”, “Kaleerein”, “Karun Sangini”, “Aghori” and a notable portrayal of the antagonist Raavan in “Vighnaharta Ganesh”. Each character showcased a different facet of his acting skill set.
2019 marked another reality‑show milestone as Paras entered “Big Boss 13”. He advanced to the final six contestants, ultimately deciding to leave the house by refusing the ₹10 lakh cash prize that would have guaranteed his stay. Apart from television, Paras ventured into films with a cameo in “M3 – Mid‑Summer Midnight Mumbai” (2014) and appeared in several music videos, though the film did not achieve commercial success.
Beyond screen performances, Paras has embraced digital media. He currently hosts the podcast “Aabra Ka Dabra with Paras Chhabra”, where he engages with industry peers from television and reality television. His personal life, including friendships with fellow participants Akanksha Puri and Mahira Sharma, continues to be covered extensively by the press, underscoring his lasting relevance in the entertainment sphere.
