Padmini Kolhapure Talks Horror Comeback in Jhaad Phoonk
Mumbai, November 1: Veteran actress Padmini Kolhapure is set to return to films with the horror drama Jhaad Phoonk, and she has said the script left her deeply unsettled.
According to the actress, the story was so eerie when it was narrated to her that she wondered whether she would be able to watch the finished film herself.
In an interview with IANS, Padmini discussed her experience of acting in a horror film, her perspective on superstition and her bonding with the cast.
Jhaad Phoonk is her second horror film. She had previously worked in Gehraayee. She noted that belief in such rituals runs deep in India, and that this makes the film's theme particularly striking.
Padmini applauded director Rajan for the way he has shaped the project. She said she had told him at the very start that she was not sure she could watch it.
She also shared the screen with the seasoned actor Yashpal Sharma and lauded his commitment and professional approach. Padmini believes that learning is a continuous process and that actors never stop growing, regardless of how senior they are. She said she gained many insights from her co-stars during the shoot.
The actress further spoke about playing Kamini and working with Sumbul Touqeer and Harsh Rajput.
Director Rajan explained his choice of casting. He said he is a great fan of Padmini, adding that her innocence and grace make her unique. He believes that audiences react warmly when she appears on screen, and that no one else could have brought the many shades of Kamini to life as effectively.
