Inside the Clash of a Notorious Outlaw and a Relentless Officer
"Bahurupi – The Golden Bandit" pits a legendary criminal against a police officer whose duty is uncompromising. Shiboprasad Mukherjee’s character, Bikram Pramanik, returns from exile seeking retribution, operating under a personal code that rejects conventional law. Across the aisle, Jishu Sengupta’s officer embodies an unwavering commitment to justice, ready to chase the bandit across any terrain.
The teaser showcases their impending collision through sharp dialogue, kinetic chase sequences, and a lingering sense of danger. This central rivalry fuels the film’s narrative arc, promising sustained tension and dramatic payoff.
Mukherjee explained that the teaser merely scratches the surface; the full-length film will expand the world, introducing layered sub‑plots, intricate character backstories, and elaborate action set‑pieces. The director duo, Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, aim to craft a story where personal vendettas intersect with societal norms.
Beyond the main plot, the movie incorporates authentic Bengali folk elements. Performers from Malda’s Gambhira troupe bring traditional songs, masks and dances, enriching the visual palette and grounding the story in regional culture.
The ensemble cast, including Kaushani Mukherjee and Sohini Sarkar, adds depth to the tale. Produced by Windows Production, the movie is scheduled for a grand release coinciding with the 2026 Durga Puja celebrations.
