Bhubaneswar buzzed with optimism as Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi promised a game-changing film policy to rejuvenate the ailing Odia film sector. Delivered during an interactive session at Culture Bhawan, the pledge comes at a critical juncture for an industry rich in heritage but starved of support. Surrounded by Odia cinema's stalwarts—from seasoned actors to tech experts—Majhi dissected the current landscape and envisioned a brighter future. He eloquently described cinema as more than recreation: it's a canvas capturing societal ethos, memories, and shared aspirations. Rejecting imitation of mainstream industries, he called for Odia films to amplify the state's unique cultural voice. Majhi inspired creators to mine stories from Odisha's soul: Jagannath lore, coastal histories, indigenous rituals, tales of disaster survival, village rhythms, and sacred river traditions. Such genuine content, he noted, promises deeper audience resonance and lasting impact. Professional development took center stage with the announcement of a state-of-the-art film training academy. Slamming past governments' indifference, the CM reaffirmed his administration's dedication to cultural preservation.
