Forget overnight fame – actor Vishal Mohan is playing the long game in Bollywood. Currently promoting his much-talked-about ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’, the Indore native shared his grounded approach in a candid interview.
‘Shortcuts aren’t for me. I aim to sustain a long innings as an actor, consistently evolving and offering novel elements in each role,’ Vishal stated. This mindset stems from his roots and early aspirations to direct, which evolved into a passion for performing.
Vishal believes technical know-how is a game-changer for actors. ‘Working behind the scenes teaches you lighting, shot composition, script nuances, and how to elevate your acting. It’s essential for true mastery,’ he noted.
His ideal characters? Raw and demanding ones that demand total immersion. ‘Think intense, unglamorous figures like in Pan Singh Tomar – physically taxing, emotionally raw, forcing me to shed my own skin and fully inhabit the role,’ he described vividly.
Excitement builds for his next big move: the ‘Mehndi’ sequel with Rani Mukerji’s legacy. Director Hamid Ali handpicked him, sparking no nerves but pure drive. ‘His faith in my work fueled my commitment,’ Vishal revealed.
The horizon expands southward, where he’ll unleash as a menacing antagonist. Following ‘Yadav Ji Ki Love Story’, expect sightings in ‘Aashiqui Imtihaan Le Ti’ and his South Indian villain debut. Vishal’s journey underscores perseverance, promising a career rich in diverse, impactful portrayals.
