In 2012, the Bhojpuri film ‘Ganga Devi’ was released, directed by Abhishek Chanda. The film’s success was attributed to two key factors: the lead roles played by Nirahua and Pakhi Hegde, and the presence of Bollywood legends Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan in supporting roles. Dinesh Lal Yadav, also known as Nirahua, recently shared an anecdote from the filming of ‘Ganga Devi’ in an interview.
During an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Dinesh Lal Yadav discussed various topics, including his experience working with Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan. Nirahua revealed a particular incident where Jaya Bachchan accidentally hit him during a scene.
When asked about his experience working with the Bachchans, Dinesh Lal Yadav shared his initial nervousness and awe. He described the experience as surreal, admitting he was starstruck and intimidated. He mentioned that working with Amitabh Bachchan was a great experience, praising his stature as a megastar. Regarding Jaya Bachchan, Nirahua explained that during a scene where he was supposed to hit his on-screen wife, Jaya Bachchan, playing his mother, reacted by hitting him with a stick. He recounted the moment, saying, ‘Why are you hitting me?’ to which Jaya Bachchan replied, ‘Why are you hitting my daughter-in-law?’ Nirahua clarified he was acting, but the hit was real. He acknowledged it might have been accidental, but he took it as a blessing from the veteran actress.
