Nimrat Kaur Honours Late Father With Heartfelt Post
Mumbai, 25 October: Actress Nimrat Kaur has honoured her late father, Major Bhupinder Singh, with a heartfelt post on his birthday, describing the sense of loss that still lingers years after his death.
The actress took to Instagram to share her emotions. She described the days when she misses her father most and said that the void created by his absence has never fully faded.
"Happy birthday, Papa. Life without you has never been the same, and today I miss you more than ever. Expressing everything I feel is difficult," Nimrat wrote.
Her post included treasured photographs from her childhood. One image captures a young Nimrat with her father, while another reflects his life in the Indian Army. The pictures lend a warm and intimate feel to the tribute.
Navjot Singh Sidhu responded to the post with words of admiration. "Nimrat, carrying forward a great legacy, keep glowing," he wrote.
Through her words, Nimrat conveyed that her father's memory is woven into every part of her life. She also said that finding the right words on such a special family day is not easy.
Major Bhupinder Singh served as an engineer in the Indian Army and received the Shaurya Chakra posthumously in recognition of his valour. On 17 January 1994, he was kidnapped by Hizbul Mujahideen-linked militants at Verinag in Kashmir while returning from an official task. After spending seven days in captivity, he was killed on 23 January 1994 at the age of 44.
Nimrat was 11 years old when she lost her father. Her mother, Avinash Kaur, brought up Nimrat and her younger sister, Rubina, on her own in Delhi and Noida.
