He received the honour for his role in 'Akal: The Unconquered', which marks his first Punjabi film. He has dedicated the award to his father, actor Pankaj Dheer.

Nikitin revealed that his father had been deeply proud of him after seeing the film, and the memory of that reaction has remained with him.

Nikitin also credited actor-filmmaker Gippy Grewal for giving him the chance to work in Punjabi cinema. He wrote, "This debut film will always hold a special place in my heart, and this award has made my journey even more special. Gippy Grewal, thank you so much. You believed in me and gave me the wonderful opportunity to be a part of 'Akal'."

The actor also remembered his father during this milestone. He wrote, "My heart is overwhelmed today as I think of my father, Pankaj Dheer. I wish he was here to witness this moment. 'Akal' was the last film he watched, and the pride he felt for me afterwards is something I will always treasure. I wish I could share this award with him, see his smile and hear him say once again how proud he is of me."

He closed his message with a heartfelt line: "Papa, this award is for you. Your blessings and your faith in me will always be my greatest strength. I hope that wherever you are, I will keep making you proud."
