Netflix has scheduled the launch of the fifth installment of "The Great Indian Kapil Show" for September 26, with new episodes rolling out every Thursday at 8 p.m. IST. After a half‑year break, the series returns with a promise of heightened comedy, surprise guest appearances, and a holiday‑centric vibe.

Kapil Sharma, the show’s star and creator, shared his anticipation, stating that the break allowed him and his troupe to explore fresh jokes while keeping the core spirit of the program intact. He highlighted the festive season as an ideal canvas for new sketches, saying the team is ready to celebrate Diwali, Christmas, and everything in between with uproarious humor.

Series head Tania Bami emphasized that the “Every Type of Funny” theme will push the boundaries of traditional Indian comedy, integrating new segments, impromptu games, and spontaneous audience interaction. The promotional video released on social media shows Sharma alongside regulars Sunil Grover, Krishna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Archana Puran Singh, and Navjot Singh Sidhu, all garbed in ethnic outfits, dancing to the rhythm of dhols.
