Neena Gupta recently reflected on a defining moment from the “Uunchai” shoot that reshaped her work ethic. The crew was filming a sequence in the blistering Delhi heat, and while the camera rolled, Amitabh Bachchan, battling a high fever, completed his part without missing a beat.

Gupta, standing under a tarp, watched the megastar and his co‑actors Anupam Kher and Boman Irani struggle against the sun’s intensity. After the take, a crew member informed her about Bachchan’s fever, leaving her deeply impressed.

That memory became a benchmark for Gupta. During a later night shoot, plagued by a persistent cough, she thought of asking the director for a reprieve. Instead, she recalled Bachchan’s perseverance and chose to push through, echoing his mantra: "Our job demands us to give our all, no matter the conditions."

She also lauded Kher’s natural ability to lift morale on set, saying his presence always infused positive energy. “Uunchai” tells the story of three elderly friends embarking on a trek to Everest Base Camp to honor a late companion’s last wish, and it remains a testament to the dedication of its cast.
