National Award Winners Gather for Cake Cutting at ‘Om’ Filming Location

A small but vivid celebration unfolded on the sets of "Om" as four National Award winners – actors Mamooty and Dhanush, director Rajkumar Periasamy, and editor Kalaivanan – cut a cake to mark their recent honours. The event was documented by Mamooty on his social platforms, where he thanked supporters and highlighted the collective achievement.

Mamooty's win for Best Actor at the 72nd National Film Awards was shared with Kartik Aryan for "Brahmayugam". Dhanush's accolades include Best Tamil Feature for "Rayan" and a special mention for "Captain Miller". Director Periasamy earned Best Director for "Amaran", a biographical drama about the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, while Kalaivanan collected Best Editing for the same film.

"Om" is set for a 16 October release and carries the tagline "Chapter 1", hinting at a possible sequel. The narrative focuses on illegal red sandalwood logging, with Dhanush playing a logger who becomes a hostage in a tense police encounter. The production team also includes music composer Sai Abhyankar, cinematographer Aziz Arasu, and costume designer Kavya Sriram.
