Music Director Deva's Son Shares Heartfelt Note of Thanks

Weeks after the passing of celebrated Tamil music director Deva, his family has come forward to thank everyone who supported them in their time of grief. The message from his son has drawn attention across the film fraternity.

Srikanth Deva, a music director himself, posted an emotional note online, offering thanks to those who stood with the family after his father's death. He spoke about the comfort they received from people across the industry and beyond.

The note recognized a broad group of people, including film stars, directors, composers, musicians, lyricists, playback singers, public relations officers, media outlets and journalists. Srikanth said each gesture of condolence and tribute had helped the family find solace.

He wrote that the affection and honour extended to his father would always remain close to their hearts. He also said the relationships and memories his father built during his long career in cinema were reflected in the outpouring of support.

Deva, who was 75, died on October 17 at a private hospital in Chennai, leaving behind a lasting legacy. Born on November 20, 1950, he scored music for over 400 films in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. Among his notable works were Rajinikanth's Annamalai, Arunachalam and Basha. His career began in 1986 with the Tamil film Matukara Mannaru.
