Mohanlal's New Film L368 Begins Filming in Kochi

Actor Mohanlal has officially begun work on his upcoming Malayalam film, which is currently titled 'L368'. The film is being directed by Anoop Sathyan, and the actor made the update public on social media on Monday.

Sharing a post on his X handle, Mohanlal confirmed that filming for 'L368' is ongoing. He also tagged the director and the entire crew in the post.

The production had earlier kicked off in the last week of October 2026 in Kochi with a traditional puja. Members of the film's team and several celebrities were present for the ceremony.

The film does not have a final name yet and is being referred to as 'L368' for now. The project is backed by Aashirvad Cinemas and Binu George Alexander, and the music is being composed by Jakes Bijoy.

The official launch was performed by lighting a traditional lamp, a ritual carried out by the mother of producer Binu George Alexander. Mohanlal also sounded the clapperboard for the first shot, a moment that left those present visibly happy.

A first look poster was released at the event. It features Mohanlal smiling as he sits with a young girl, while another girl leans over his back and holds a paper toy.

The technical team is one of the film's strongest points. Anoop Sathyan is handling both writing and direction. Shehnad Jalal is the cinematographer, Prasanth Madhav is the art director, and Silva is the stunt choreographer.

Reports indicate that 'L368' will be Anoop Sathyan's second film after 'Varane Avashyamundu'. It is expected to be a comedy-action entertainer, and actor Mukesh is said to have a crucial role.

The film also brings back a popular on-screen partnership in Malayalam cinema. Mohanlal and Mukesh had earlier worked together in Priyadarshan's comedy 'Oru Marubhoomi Kathha' in 2011 and in 'Peruchazhi' in 2014.
