"Mandadi" is more than a sports drama – it is a tribute to the maritime heritage of Tamil Nadu’s coastal communities. The story follows a group of brave fishermen and racers who rely on unique skills, courage and leadership to survive the unforgiving sea.

The production completed its principal photography in April 2026, with the majority of scenes shot on the open ocean. A behind‑the‑scenes video released by the crew shows the crew and cast coping with injuries, harsh weather and demanding logistics, underscoring the arduous effort behind the film’s realistic ocean backdrop.

Alongside Suri, the ensemble includes Telugu actor Suhas, making his Tamil debut, and seasoned performers such as Satyaraj and Ravindra Vijay, adding depth to the narrative.
