Malayalam Film Harivarasanam to Hit Theatres on Makar Sankranti
The Malayalam film Harivarasanam has announced its theatrical release date. The movie is scheduled to open in cinemas on January 15 next year, during the Makar Sankranti festival.
Rajesh Nair is directing the project, which features Saiju Kurup in the central role. The filmmaker is known for his earlier works, Salt Mango Tree and Thrissur Pooram.
In a social media post, production house Panorama Studios revealed the date. The post called the film an emotional journey of faith and asked viewers to catch it in theatres during Makar Sankranti.
Rajesh Nair had earlier confirmed in the first week of October that the film's dubbing was complete. He also shared updates through Instagram stories, keeping followers informed about the project.
In August, he released a behind-the-scenes image from the set, along with news that the shoot had reached its 30th day. The photograph captured the cinematographer filming actors dressed as devotees who were queuing to climb the famous 18 steps of Sabarimala.
Anticipation has grown after Tamil comedian Yogi Babu became part of the team. Saiju Kurup shared a photo with him on Instagram, describing the addition as a joyful moment for the unit and hinting at a film that blends emotion, devotion and a strong story.
The film is produced by Vinayak Ajith. Its shoot began in July with a puja ceremony at Chithranjali Studios in Thiruvananthapuram, where a large set modelled on the renowned Sabarimala temple was put up.
The story is written by Ampadhi K., and R. Jayachandran has designed the project. Cinematography is by Sajad Kaku, and Ranjin Raj has composed the music. Ajish Adaman is the editor, while Stephy Xavier designed the costumes. Rakhil handled production design and Sasi Poduval managed production control.
