Lawrence Gang Suspects Linked to Threats Against Bollywood Stars

A coordinated extortion campaign targeting prominent Bollywood figures has come to light, with authorities linking recent threats to the Lawrence Bishnoi criminal outfit. Actor Ayushmann Khurrana is the latest star to receive a ransom demand, with the sender claiming direct affiliation with the notorious gang.

Police sources confirm that Ayushmann was sent a digital audio file containing a demand for millions of rupees. Crime branch experts are currently running acoustic analysis on the recording, matching it against historical voice prints of listed offenders to pinpoint the sender. This forensic step is crucial to establishing a digital trail for prosecution.

The threat against Ayushmann emerged shortly after the film industry reeled from the violent shooting targeting Tiger Shroff. On October 18, armed assailants on a motorbike ambushed Shroff’s car in Juhu, Mumbai. While the star survived the encounter unharmed, his driver and a fellow actor accompanying him sustained injuries and required hospitalization.

The Mumbai Police Crime Branch assumed control of the Tiger Shroff case to trace a wider criminal syndicate. Recognizing the organized nature of the plot, officials invoked the Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act on October 27. Continued interrogations have led to the arrest of thirteen suspects as of November 2, with authorities believing the operation extends far beyond the initial shooters.

During detention hearings, captured networks members disclosed that extensive reconnaissance was conducted on multiple industry heavyweights prior to the Juhu strike. Celebrities allegedly under surveillance included Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Amitabh Bachchan.

Parallel to the Ayushmann case, actor Tusshar Kapoor also reported a disturbing voice message. The caller asserted membership in the Lawrence Bishnoi camp and falsely presented himself as a former professional boxer. The extortion demand stood at five crore rupees. Kapoor promptly filed a complaint, triggering a specialized unit to trace the communication.

Security agencies are now reinforcing protection details across the entertainment sector as investigations continue to unfold.
