Khalifa Trailer Highlights Gold Smuggling Plot Ahead of August Release

Khalifa, the eagerly anticipated film starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, has released a teaser that spotlights a complex gold‑smuggling storyline. Directed by Vaisakh, the film follows Amir Ali, played by Prithviraj, in a revenge‑driven narrative with abundant action.

The teaser opens with a news bulletin announcing that police and customs officials have uncovered a multibillion‑dollar gold smuggling network operating from the Middle East, linked to London, Nepal and Kerala. The investigation touches upon the ‘Coffeposa’ law and references historic criminal figures from North and South India.

Alongside the protagonist, the cast includes Shammu Thilakan as Raghavan, Mohini as Noor Jahan, Kayra Vasudevan as Vaishnavi, and Master Nafash as Rushin. While their exact story arcs remain unrevealed, the promotional posters suggest each will play a crucial part.

Khalifa completed shooting in June, with several pivotal sequences captured in Dubai. The film is slated for a theatrical launch on 20 August 2026, promising audiences a blend of high‑energy action and a gripping crime saga.
