Akshay Kumar, Ananya Panday, and R Madhavan starred in ‘Kesari Chapter 2,’ which garnered a positive reception in theaters. Based on the book ‘The Case That Shook The Empire,’ the film revolves around C Sankaran Nair’s legal battle against the British Crown, holding them accountable for the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Karan Singh Tyagi marked his directorial debut with ‘Kesari Chapter 2.’ Following its theatrical success, the movie is now set to be released on OTT.
‘Kesari Chapter 2’ will premiere on JioHotstar on June 13. JioHotstar announced the OTT release date, stating, “The story you know, the truth you don’t! Witness the aftermath of Jallianwala Bagh, in #KesariChapter2 streaming June 13 on JioHotstar.”
The film received praise from numerous celebrities and politicians who supported the project. Prime Minister Narendra Modi acknowledged C Sankaran Nair’s contribution in a speech. Sharing the video on Instagram, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Thank you Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji for remembering the great Chettur Sankaran Nair ji and his contribution to our freedom struggle. It is so important that we as a nation, especially the younger generation values the great women and men who fought valiantly to ensure that we breathe in a free country! Our Kesari Chapter 2, is a humble effort to remind everyone that we must never take our freedom for granted!”
The cast includes Regina Cassandra, Simon Paisley Day, Alexx O’Nell, Amit Sial, Mark Bennington, and Krish Rao. Prior to the release of ‘Kesari Chapter 2,’ Akshay shared behind-the-scenes photos, writing, “You must have heard many stories but this is a storm. C.
