The show is considered one of the most popular entries in Indian television history. It focused on teenage romance, friendship, rivalry, class differences, bullying, eating disorders and teenage pregnancy, topics that resonated strongly with viewers. Over time, the series developed a loyal following.

Its soundtrack, sung by the band Aasma, also gained significant popularity.

The series ran for two years and wrapped up in July 2006 after 348 episodes. Even today, it remains a beloved nostalgic favourite from the early 2000s on Indian television.

The actor had recently been seen on the stunt-based reality show 'Khatron Ke Khiladi 15', an experience he has described as more than a typical television assignment. When the season ended, he posted an emotional note on Instagram.

Cheers to a season full of love, friendship, bonds, respect and most importantly, a man you all call the plot. Rohit Shetty sir, you are incredible," he wrote.

He also shared several images from the finale night. In one, he poses with friend Rithvik Dhanjani and host Rohit Shetty. In another, winner Avinash Mishra is seen with Rohit.
